About Me

Hi Everyone,

A little bit about me! My name is Julia Karlovec and I am a native Ohioan. I love traipsing around Cleveland, taking pictures, and trying the local food. One of my favorite things to do in Cleveland each summer is attend the Cleveland Flea. 

The background behind why I wanted to study abroad:

Ever since I went on trips with a group called People To People Student Ambassador I have been fascinated by the many different cultures, architecture, and foods that the world has. I knew that I wanted to study abroad later in life. Leading up to this point I am attending college as a Communication major not really sure what I want to do with life, maybe help others, maybe write. All I know is that I want to travel the world, and see all that it has to offer. 

I am about to embark on a 3 1/2 month long voyage around the world with Semester at Sea. I will be traveling with 580 other college students. During this semester we will visit 11 different countries, 15 cities, and hit 4 continents. Also on the ship are lifelong learners (30 years old and older) who are also taking classes or just on the voyage as well as professors and their families.
