During the Christmas season, my aunt and cousin and I went to (high) tea at Perky Kettle, in Chesterland, Ohio. The food was amazing, but even more important the decor was so cute. At Perky Kettle I felt like I was transported to London! For (high) tea we had scones, sandwiches, and desserts, as well as the chance to order tea. My cousin and I ordered chocolate mint tea, which the waitress said tasted like a Girl Scout cookie, and it really did! My aunt got a tea that was more natural tea.

At the scones, desserts and sandwiches came, they all came on two trays. One was designated at my aunts tray because it had all single-serving items; however, the other tray had two of everything, enough for my cousin and I to share! Soon our teas came, and the waitress gave us these handy sand timers. One of the colors was for if we wanted our tea to sit for three minutes, the next color was four our tea to sit for four minutes, and the last color was five minutes. Five minutes being the strongest that the tea would be. At the five minute mark, my cousin went to taste the tea; however, said it was too hot. A little later, said the tea had cooled down and it was ready to drink. She reached for the sugar container and added two lumps of white sugar with the sugar cube grabber. I decided that I would taste my tea and see how I liked it, so I did. It was not sweet enough, I thought it needed some white sugar. I added two cubes of white sugar as my cousin did, and soon enough our food was coming. There were two trays that were placed at our table. One was for our aunt, who had a single-serve portion; while, my cousin and I had our portion on a larger tray. It had our raspberry and strawberry jams for our scones ( they sadly were out of clotted cream.) They also brought our finger sandwiches: tikka masala, egg salad, cucumber,  and coronation chicken tea sandwiches. Lastly were desserts, all too good. There were little cookies, rosemary, and seasonal shortbread cookies. I not only enjoyed the company that I was with, the decor but also the wonderful food at Perky Kettle, I would definitely come back!
